The Mutawatir: Jurnal Keilmuan Tafsir Hadith is published twice a year by the Department of Al-Quran and Hadith, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Philosophy, Sunan Ampel State Islamic University (UIN) Surabaya Indonesia. The journal aims at publishing an original academic research on the main topic of the Quran and Hadith studies. The subject covers all related issues on the Quran and Hadith such as the classical inquiry of the Quran, tafsir and Hadith, methodological examination of the classical and contemporary scholars to the Quran and Hadith, contemporary approaches to the Quran and Hadith, the oriental studies of the Quran and Hadith, the living phenomena which is so called as living Quran and Hadith, and all related issues to the interdisciplinary studies of the Quran and Hadith.

Abstract

The interpretation methodology of Koran always has significant development. No death of interpretation, because the interpretation methodology will develop agree with throb of people civilization and language development. A matter of fact, Koran is a guidance book for man with Arabic language. For example, dalâl. Although concept of dalâl was exist at Muhammed period, but there are many distortion and wrong conclution after Muhammed, and lost of essential meaning of dalâl. Some people or some community said that dalâl is used to tought that considered wrong or deviate on right way, in other opinion they said that dalâl just for unbeliever, polytheist, immoral in law, and the others. The difference opinion is none other than different interpretation method to word of dalâl. Because of that, the writer interested to analyze dalâl with semantic method. Because the writer is conviced about semantic will give some enticement concept of dalâl.

Abstract

Attempts to interpret the Koran according to God’s will done many Muslim scholars in order to make the Koran as a guide to life. Diverse products that leave the interpretation of the rationale, methods and background exegetes in different ranges of time and place are emerging in all generations. The diversity of interpretations of this product is reasonable conditions on the way the dynamics of history. Al-Tabarî, ‘Abduh, al-Zamakhsharî, and al-Tabâtabâ’î is most commentators who have given a big hand in developing the methodology of interpretation and unravel the meanings contained in the Koran. Similarly, the Shahrûr, although it only partially interpret the Koran as interpreted thematic (mawdû‘î). Therefore, an important step to be taken is the objectivity of studies related ittijâh, manhaj, and results interpretation to then be selected and distinctions, in order to know whether that interest is already making an interpretation of the purpose of an examination rulings or rulings which is allowed, such as ijtihâd of the Prophet, his companions, tâbi‘în, or imams schools.

Abstract

In conveying messages of teachings, the Koran uses a variety of ways. One of the ways in which the Koran is using amthâl. Amthâl al-Qur’ân is the message of the Koran are delivered with parables, which likens abstract things with concrete, with the aim that the messages easier to understand. This article will specifically dissect the interpretation of Sayyid Qutb against amthâl al-musarrahah in Fî Zilâl al-Qur’ân using thematically, as judged able to know fully and comprehensively the purpose of a theme discussed. The purpose of the amthâl al-mus}arrah}ah is a parable in which is described by the word mithâl or something that shows tashbîh. In the Koran, the verses relating to amthâl al-musarrahah found 22 verses are included in the classification amthâl al-makkîyah and 20 verses amthâl musarrahah included in the classification amthâl al-madanîyah. Abstract

This paper will explain the concept of ontological Ibn al-‘Arabi of interpretation, the general idea of the book Ahkâm al-Qur’ân that includes methods, patterns, sources of interpretation, interpretation elements and characteristics that distinguish it from the interpreters other. Ontological view regarding the interpretation that was never a logical consequence of the importance of the final carry was critical of the existing interpretation of the results so far, so it is legitimate to question whether Ahkâm al-Qur’ân is still relevant to the demands of his time or not? Whether in it there is coercion-coercion and preconceptions-ideological Ibn al-‘Arabî or not? Given, Ahkâm al-Qur’ân is reproduced in the 5th century AH, where the fight discourse between the schools of thought Islam was at its height. Abstract

Historically, the study of hadith in Islam emerged as the study of sîrah. Both of these disciplines appear as awareness and concern of the classical Muslim scholars to the purity and preservation of the historical mission of the Prophet Muhammad. The contribution of hadith to the formation of Islamic historiography in general, is not only just limited to the provision of material which is enormous for writing sîrah, but also has implications for the formation of Islamic historiography writing methods, such as the method isnâd as a character of hadith expert, and the chronological method as the character of historians. Al-Tabaqât al-Kabîr by Ibn Sa‘d (w. 230 H.) is considered as a pioneering work that elaborates on two systems. Even when viewed as an integrative, the works of Ibn Sa‘d regarded as the only one pioneering work who elaborates three forms of historiography at once (sîrah, maghâzî, and asmâ’ al-rijâl). Collaborative forms of Islamic historiography in the works of Ibn Sa‘d is certainly a new breakthrough in the classical historiography art which is in previously only in fragmentary form.

Abstract

Ibn H{anbal was a great mujaddid Islam with the final work hadith titled al-Musnad. Musnad is a hadith which contains a range of devices beyond the author himself, namely: (1) the teacher as transmitter of the tradition, (2) management through the involvement of his family, and (3) generation of editing afterwards, (4) the reclassification composition for service development literature, and (5) i‘râb against him. The latter two devices make the referensif Musnad rises higher. Musnad strategies are (1) the involvement of the gate-keeper as the key to unlocking the information, (2) checking the validity of data through cross-check and overtime, and (3) the transformation of information to open criticism. Musnad role in the science of hadith are (1) collection of hadith which are highest among the narrators, (2) the methodology of the strategies used; and (3) contribution to the tradition of jurisprudence. In that role there contributive involvement in the preparation of Musnad second line in an orderly manner, the addition of hadith from other sources, and updates the edition.

Abstract

One aspect that makes a bunch of people does not believe in the existence and role of sunnah is the delay of codification itself. Peoples also considered that hadith’s codified in various references are not what are worth ascribed to the Prophet, but rather a form of the companions comprehension of the Prophet’s directives and statements. That is why, there are different editorial ranges between one companion to another, even the mutawâtir lafzî was not separated from this editorial differences. This paper high lights how was the process of hadith codification, so that we can find a common points which are closely related to the authenticity and validity of a hadith. Studying on such topic (the process of hadith codification and classification), shows how professional the hadith scholars in memorizing and maintaining Sunnah of the Prophet, to bring the science of isnâd (‘ilm al-isnâd) which is never possessed by any other religion. This is the climax of the way clergy maintaining the authenticity of the Prophet sayings. That is, whenever one states todays about a hadith, definitely, its authenticity and validity would be detected through the scienc.

Abstract

The emergence of comprehension to back to the Koran and Sunnah in Indonesia is not only driven by the reality of Islamic beliefs which is mixing with other elements, but also caused by the system of understanding of Islamic teaching which are considered less precise. Call it like understanding the meaning of sunnah, ijtihâd, ittibâ‘, taqlîd, and others. Ahmad Hassan, a Muslim thinker who is affiliated to the organizations that called PERSIS, came up to take a role in the struggle of the above problems. Armed with a depth of knowledge, a breadth of knowledge and mastery of sciences, Hassan appeared to prove that the Koran and Sunnah has been more than adequate as a source of Islamic teachings without requiring additional elements. In this regard, it is important to listen to his ideas in the field of hadith as the second source after the Koran. This simple paper tries to capture the thought of Hassan’s hadith and his contribution to the development of hadith studies in Indonesia.
